How to Make a Volcano Erupt at Home

If your kids are anything like mine, the words “science experiment” magically translate to “I get to make a mess, right?” And honestly… yes. Yes, they do. But don’t worry—this classic baking-soda volcano is the good kind of mess: quick to set up, easy to clean, and full of those “WOW, MOM!” moments we live for.
So grab a cup of coffee, roll up your sleeves, and let’s make some lava!

Watch me make it…
Volcano Science Experiment
-
Line a big cookie sheet with the aluminum foil.
-
Put a solo cup in the middle of a paper plate. Take 2 sheets of aluminum foil and wrap it around so it looks like the shape of a volcano.
-
Place the “volcano” in the middle of the cookie sheet.
-
Add the water, baking soda, dish soap, and food coloring into the cup. Stir until dissolved.
-
When ready, pour your vinegar into the top of the cup and enjoy the action!
